Harry Robertson ~ Hawk The Slayer (1980)

This is a story of Heroic Deeds and the bitter struggle for the triumph of Good over Evil and of a wondrous Sword wielded by a mighty Hero when the Legions of Darkness stalk the land.

Once upon a future time or in age long forgotten, the fate of the land is balanced on the bloody blades of broadswords wielded by two brothers. On the one side is HAWK THE SLAYER, possessing gifts of courage and an unswerving sense of honor and justice for all. His sole resolve is to avenge the death of his father, killed by the hand of his evil older brother VOLTAN. Cursed by his father to die a thousand deaths and for his soul  power to find peace, Voltan thirsts for the death of Hawk. Under a concealing black mask, Voltan roams the land - his secret allies, the black wizards, whose purpose is the subjugation of the land. But Hawk has his own band of trusted warriors. The giant GORT, the mischievious dwarf BALDIN, RANULF, a soldier crippled by Voltan, a blind witch whom Hawk saved from the stake, and the mysterious elf, CROW. With the aid of the magic mindsword entrusted to him by his dying father, Hawk and his band face Voltan and his unions in a battle of good vs. evil in which only one can survive.

Harry Robertson - Hawk The Slayer

Hawk the Slayer (1980)

Hawk the Slayer (1980) is a swords and sorcery movie directed by Terry Marcel and starring John Terry and Jack Palance. The protagonist is Hawk, a hero in the Dark Age, where the Evil ruled the world.

The most striking thing about this movie is the soundtrack which alone has gained cult status amongst B movie fans. It is unusual for melding a traditional orchestral arrangement with synthetic disco beats and Ennio Morricone inspired western music. The soundtrack was composed by Harry Robertson who also provided scores for some Hammer Horror films.
