MARK KILIAN biography
Born and raised in South Africa, Mark came to the USA to pursue a career in film scoring in 1994. His academic life in his native country (Masters Degree in composition) and very active performing career (as a pianist who played with people like Darius Brubeck, Shirley Bassey, Airto Moreira and Ladysmith Black Mambazo) prepared him for his enrollment into USC’s Film Scoring program. Upon completion he was hired by film composer Christopher Young as an assistant and then joined Machine Head in Venice where he wrote music for countless TV commercials for companies like Apple, Budweiser, American Express and Toyota.

The Ward (2010) - Official Trailer

JOHN CARPENTER'S
THE WARD

The Ward is a 2011 American horror film directed by John Carpenter. The screenplay is written by Michael Rasmussen and Shawn Rasmussen. It stars Amber Heard, Danielle Panabaker, Mika Boorem, and Jared Harris. The film debuted in the UK on January 21, 2011. It is Carpenter's first full-length feature film since Ghosts of Mars in 2001.
The story revolves around a young institutionalized woman named Redelina (Amber Heard) who is haunted by a mysterious and deadly ghost. As danger creeps closer, she comes to realize that this ghost might be darker than anything she ever could have imagined.

John Carpenter’s The Ward (2010)

Master Of Horror John Carpenter is back — and he invites you to check into THE WARD.

1966. Night. As a storm approaches the North Bend Psychiatric Hospital, something unseen walks the halls of the isolation ward. It closes in on the small bare room of a distressed young woman.  As the storm peaks and the lighting strikes outside, the young girl screams in terror.  As dawn breaks the next day, another young woman, Kristen, disheveled and disoriented, sets fire to an abandoned farmhouse. Captured by the local police, she is remanded to North Bend where she is processed and taken to the isolation ward — the same place we have just witnessed the other young woman terrified beyond words...

The Ward ~ Run Baby Run (Back Into My Arms)

In the ward, Kristen meets the other patients: Zooey, childlike and withdrawn; Iris, artistic, prim and proper; flirtatious Sarah and the group's free spirit, Emily.  While Kristen is unsure how she got there or why, she is certain that the ward has a dark secret at its core that freezes the girls into silence and she’s determined to get out — even if it’s alone.

The films of John Carpenter have inspired some of the most iconic and terrifying scores of modern times — most of them composed by Mr. Carpenter himself (Halloween, Escape From New York, Christine).   On other occasions, Carpenter has engaged the likes of Ennio Morricone (The Thing) and Jack Nietzche (Starman).  Composer Mark Kilian (Traitor) now joins the ranks and rises to the challenge of sending chills down the spines of Carpenter’s newest generation of fans.

Monster Alice

Jillian Kramer as Monster Alice, the ghost responsible for the disappearances. Using surgical tools as torture means on her victims. Not much is clear about her rather than the fact that she is getting rid of the girls one by one.

I think I remember...Everything.
