Dèmoni è un film del 1985, diretto da Lamberto Bava, e prodotto da Dario Argento.

Alla sceneggiatura collaborarono il regista, lo stesso Argento, Franco Ferrini e Dardano Sacchetti che ne è anche autore del soggetto, vagamente ispirato al film Zombi di George A. Romero.

Del cast fanno parte Urbano Barberini, Natasha Hovey, Karl Zinny e la figlia primogenita di Argento, Fiore.

Trama:

Cheryl (Natasha Hovey) si ritrova da sola dopo essere scesa dalla metropolitana; sente strani rumori e poi vede un uomo con la faccia per metà coperta da una maschera che la impaurisce. Fugge, l'individuo la insegue e la ferma... Ma solo per darle un biglietto per la prima di un film al Metropol, un nuovo cinema. Cheryl, ripresasi dallo spavento, chiede all'uomo un secondo biglietto per una sua amica, Kathy (Paola Cozzo). Le due si recano al cinema, evitando così una noiosa lezione; fuori dal cinema è esposto un "monumento" di ferro raffigurante un cavaliere a cavallo di una vera moto con in mano una maschera d'argento con le fattezze di un demone. In sala il film che è proiettato è un horror in cui un gruppo di ragazzi viola la tomba di Nostradamus, dove viene trovata una maschera molto simile a quella esposta fuori dal cinema. Nell'atrio del cinema, una prostituta, per scherzare, si prova la maschera esposta procurandosi un taglietto. Rientrata in sala, la ferita inizia a sanguinare e va in bagno, dove le si forma una bolla biancastra che esplode; la sua "amica" decide di andarla a cercare e la trova chiusa in bagno, con gli occhi giallastri e piena di liquido bianco e sangue che le escono dalla bocca. È diventata una specie di demone, e di lì a poco graffia sul collo l'amica, che riesce però a scappare; sullo schermo, nel frattempo, uno dei protagonisti inizia ad uccidere i suoi compagni: le urla della pellicola si confondono con quelle della prostituta ferita, la quale riesce a sfondare lo schermo, cadendo a terra esanime; intanto, la prima che ha subito la mutazione, attacca una coppia di amanti, strangolandoli. Sotto gli occhi allibiti degli spettatori, mentre nel film il protagonista si tramuta in un demone, anche l'altra prostituta inizia la sua trasformazione: le unghie si spezzano facendo posto a lunghissimi artigli, gli occhi si colorano di giallo e enormi denti vengono fuori dalle gengive. Inizia il panico, mentre i due demoni continuano a infettare gli occupanti della sala, che si trasformano a loro volta, divenendo creature assatanate. Cheryl e Kathy, insieme a George (Urbano Barberini) e Ken (Karl Zinny), due ragazzi conosciuti lì, provano, assieme ad altri, a fuggire dal cinema, ma trovano solo porte murate mentre nell'edificio aumenta il numero dei contagiati. Riescono a trascinarsi nel corridoio, ma Kathy, che era stata ferita, si tramuta e viene eliminata; ma dalla sua schiena fuoriesce un altro demone che graffia Ken, il quale implora agli amici di ucciderlo (cosa che viene fatta non appena il giovane si trasforma in demone). Tranne i due giovani ancora in vita, tutti ormai sono diventati bestie demoniache (compresi quattro punk che si erano rifugiati nel cinema per sfuggire alla polizia); George e Cheryl affrontano le creature, grazie alla motocicletta esposta (ma funzionante). Seppur con fatica riescono ad uscire dalla struttura: un elicottero cade sul cinema, permettendo ai due superstiti la fuga ma, sul tetto, compare l'uomo dei biglietti, che però dopo una breve lotta viene eliminato; i due ragazzi escono in strada, dove però c'è una situazione ancora più tragica: i demoni sono anche fuori! Sopraggiunge una jeep con tre superstiti, che raccolgono i due giovani... Alla fine dei titoli di coda, Cheryl, la quale evidentemente era stata contagiata, si trasforma, ma prima che possa assalire George, uno degli occupanti della jeep la uccide con una fucilata, lasciandola agonizzante sull'asfalto sotto lo sguardo disperato di George...

Demons (Italian: Dèmoni is a 1985 Italian horror film directed by Lamberto Bava and produced by Dario Argento. The screenplay was written by Bava, Argento, Franco Ferrini and Dardano Sacchetti, from a story by Sacchetti. Filming took place in Berlin, Germany and Rome, Italy.

On the Berlin subway, university student Cheryl is pursued by a mysterious, masked man. However, rather than attack her he offers her tickets to a free screening at a local, recently renovated cinema. She talks her friend, Kathy, into going with her. At the crowded theater, they meet two young gentleman, George and Ken, and sit with them. Before the film begins, a woman named Rosemary scratches her face with a bizarre mask in the lobby. The film is a violent, disturbing horror film that features the mask from the lobby. Feeling ill, Rosemary goes to the bathroom. The scratch on her face bursts open, spewing out a foul pus. She is soon transformed into a bloodthirsty, fanged demon. Rosemary attacks her friend, Carmen. Carmen rips through the screen and transforms into a demon in front of the rest of the cinema goers.

The group of uninfected race to any exit they can find, only to find that they have all been bricked up. Although they attempt to barricade themselves in the balcony, many of them are attacked and infected by the demons. One of the demons escapes into the city when four punks break in to the building through a back entrance. The punks are soon transformed into demons as well.

In the cinema, only George and Cheryl remain uninfected. Using a motorcycle and sword props from the lobby, they ride through the auditorium slicing down many demons. Suddenly, a helicopter crashes through the roof. George and Cheryl use its winch to climb to the roof. There they are attacked by the mysterious man from the subway but are able to kill him by impaling his head on an exposed bit of rebar. The two climb down onto the streets and discover the demonic infection has spread throughout the city. They are picked up by well-armed survivors in a jeep. As they drive to safety, Cheryl transforms into a demon. She is killed by one of the other passengers, leaving George as the only survivor from the cinema.
